Who are we?
The Youth Justice Institute was established in 2019 as a central resource for youth justice practitioners across England and Wales. We are committed to empowering professionals who work with children, young people and caregivers in the justice system. We provide essential tools, training, and support tailored to the needs of those who work directly with children.
Driving meaningful impact in the youth justice system.
Our core values

Empowerment
We equip practitioners with the resources, skills, and confidence they need to make a positive difference in young lives and advance in their careers.

Collaboration
We believe in building a supportive community for youth justice practitioners. Our aim is to connect professionals across the sector, promote the sharing of knowledge, and encourage working together to strengthen youth justice practice.

Integrity
We are committed to transparency, professionalism, and ethical practice, upholding the highest standards in all that we do.
Our mission
The youth justice workforce is at the core of everything we do. Our mission aims to support and inspire practitioners to gain the skills and tools they need to shape the futures of children. At the heart of our mission is continuous improvement; we want to foster an environment for practitioners that pushes forward positive change in youth justice.
